Request for Proposal for Design Services

The Cambridge Housing Authority (CHA) is seeking the services of up to five (5) qualified design teams to provide professional planning, design, and construction administration services in connection with Selective Modernization Work at Cambridge Housing Authority Developments and Affiliated Sites.

This is an “Indefinite Quantity” Contract, commonly referred to as a “House Doctor” contract. Work under this contract will be identified and performed on an on-going basis until the fee’s upset limit is reached.  Upon identification of a priority modernization project by the CHA, the CHA design team shall evaluate the project and execute a task order identifying the specific tasks to be undertaken.

The initial term of the contract will be three years, renewable for one (1) two year period. The total duration of the contract, including all extensions, shall not exceed five years plus any additional time required to provide construction administration of task orders executed during the term of the contract. The maximum fee for basic services including planning, design, and construction administration services is $1,500,000 for the initial service period, and would increase by an additional $750,000 should the contact period be extended by two additional years. Fees will be paid based upon approved task orders. Reimbursable expenses are in addition to the basic services fee.

A briefing session to review the project will be held at 1:00 PM on June 30th at a Zoom link that will be provided upon request. Please email your request for the Zoom link to Maura Barry-Garland at mgarland@cambridg-housing.org. While attendance is not mandatory, we encourage you to attend to better familiarize yourself with the requirements of the contract and CHA’s portfolio.

Interested candidates must submit an electronic version (via email or Dropbox) by 5:00pm on Friday, July 16, 2021. If you are emailing your proposal, please send it to mgarland@cambridge-housing.org.
