Project #1309 – RAD II at 116 Norfolk
The Cambridge Housing Authority, the Awarding Authority, is Re-Advertising and invites sealed bid for the above-named project in Cambridge, Massachusetts, in accordance with the documents prepared by HMFH Architects, Inc.
The current property, located on 116 Norfolk St, Cambridge, MA project, consist of a gut renovation of the 37unit existing 1907 convent and construction of an attached new building. Together the overall square footage of the completed project will be 49,000 square feet of which approximately 22,000 sf will be a new addition. The construction period will last approximately 21 months from February 2023 to November 2024. The work is estimated to cost $32,000,000.
Bids are subject to M.G.L. c.149 §44A-J and to minimum wage rates as required by the Federal Department of Labor prevailing wage decision for Middlesex County Massachusetts, Building Construction type. Colantonio is the selected CM at risk.

This Re-Advertising to bid is only open to trade bidders in the following trades. All, bidders must include a current DCAMM Sub-Bidder Certificate of Eligibility, a signed DCAMM Sub-Bidder’s Update Statement, with their bid in addition to a bid deposit in the amount of five percent (5%) of the amount of the bid.

THIS PROJECT IS BEING ELECTRONICALLY BID, AND HARD COPY BIDS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED. Please review the instructions in the bid documents on how to register as an electronic bidder. The bids are to be prepared and submitted at www.biddocsonline.com. Tutorials and instructions on how to complete the electronic bid documents are available online (click on the “Tutorial” tab at the bottom footer). All Bids should be submitted electronically online at www.biddocsonline.com and received no later than 12:00 PM on Thursday October 13, 2022, and publicly opened on-line, forthwith.
All bidder questions must be submitted in writing by electronic submission to the Architect at gbrock@hmfh.com. Include “RAD II at 116 Norfolk Bidder RFI” in the email subject line. All RFI’s effecting bidders must be submitted to the Architect by 5:00 pm on Friday October 7, 2022.
Trade bids shall be accompanied by a bid deposit not less than five (5%) of the greatest possible bid amount (considering all alternates) and made payable to the Cambridge Housing Authority.
Bid Forms and Contract Documents will be available at www.biddocsonline.com (may be viewed electronically and downloaded at no cost) or hard copies may be purchased at BidDocs.
Bids shall remain in effect for 90 days, Saturdays, Sundays and legal holidays excluded after opening. Successful bidders shall agree to commence work and complete the Work in accordance with the dates set forth in the Bidding Documents and Contract Documents.
This project is to be sales tax exempt.
