VENTILATION MODIFICATIONS PROJECT AT

JOHN F. KENNEDY APARTMENTS

 

Kennedy Management Inc.., in its capacity as Management Member, acting on behalf of John F. Kennedy Apartments LLC, the Owner, and as an affiliate of the Cambridge Housing Authority, invites bids from General Contractors for: Ventilation Modifications at John F. Kennedy Apartments, , in Cambridge, Massachusetts, in accordance with the documents prepared by the Cambridge Housing Authority.

 

Located at 55 Essex Street, near Central Square, John F. Kennedy Apartments is an eight-story concrete frame residential building originally constructed in 1970 and comprehensively modernized in 2008. It houses 69 apartments.

 

The work includes providing high-efficiency filter boxes and associated duct modifications for six (6) ducted fancoil units serving the first floor areas.  Fan coil units are located in the basement and crawlspaces.  The building will be fully occupied throughout the construction period.

 

The construction period will be forty-five (45) calendar days from Notice to Proceed to. The work is estimated to cost less than $50,000. Bids are subject to M.G.L. Chapter 149 §44A-J and to the Davis Bacon wage rates attached to the bid documents. The project will require a 50% Payment Bond if the contract amount is over $25,000.

 

Bid Documents will be available on line on Wednesday, February 2, 2022 after 9:00 AM at https://cambridge-housing.org/departments/fiscal/solicitations-and-bids/.  There is no charge for these bid documents.

 

There will be a pre-bid site visit and walk-through on Tuesday, February 8 at 10:00am.

CHA COVID PROTOCOL:  wearing a mask of KN95 quality or better is mandatory, maintaining social distancing, and completing the COVID-19 Form as provided by the CHA at the site prior to entering the building.

Questions requesting clarifications are due Friday, February 11, 2022 at 10:00 AM.  The CHA will respond with clarifications by Monday, February 14, 2022.

 

Bids are due no later than 12:00 PM on Friday, February 18, 2022. Due to the value of this contract, this is not a sealed bid process.
