From CHA Planning and Development:

Thank you to everyone who attended our first AHO neighborhood meeting for the redevelopment of 116 Norfolk Street on February 10, 2022! If you missed the meeting, don’t worry, you can access the recording of the meeting here and the presentation slides here.

To recap, CHA presented on the neighborhood context and current condition of 116 Norfolk, the need for renovations to replace failing building systems and convert single-room occupancy (SRO) units into studio apartments, and CHA’s plan to increase the number of affordable units from 38 to 62 and to partner with Eliot Community Human Services to have four full-time case managers on site. CHA received community feedback including the need for social services on site, the importance of tree preservation, a desire for more detail on the parking and transportation management plan, and abutter desire for an increased buffer between properties.

Since the first AHO meeting, CHA has modified the side yard plan with abutter interests in mind and has advanced landscape plans, the transportation management plan, and the materials and design of the façade. We are appreciative of the feedback and turnout from neighbors and residents.

What’s next? The CHA will hold the second AHO meeting to update neighbors and residents about CHA’s development plans for 116 Norfolk Street on Tuesday, April 26, 2022 at 6pm. Please see below the flyer for the meeting.
